Head of Marketing

Mollie is looking for an exceptional Marketeer, with a data-driven and hands-on mindset to spearhead our marketing department. A true professional that co-owns the responsibility to further expand our business across Europe.

FULL-TIME · AMSTERDAM

Hi, we are Mollie! 👋🏼

Our mission is creating a greater playing field for everyone. By offering convenient, safe and world-wide payment solutions we remove barriers to compete with your costumers.

Being authentic is our baseline

Mollie is one of Europe’s fastest growing fin-tech companies. We provide a simple and clear payment API, that enables webshop and app builders to implement more than ten different payment methods in one go.

Tinkering, disruption, and inclusivity are Mollie core values. In the first few years of existence, Mollie was a developer-only endeavour, and 14 years later devs and techs still comprise roughly 45% of all staff. As a natural consequence, a lot of things that enterprise businesses or pretend-to-be-start-ups are trying too hard to mimic, come quite natural to Mollie.

Obvious things. Like you pick whatever tools you want to use to get the job done. MacBooks, absurdly large or many screens, top-notch noise-cancelling headphones and whatever other equipment makes your nerd-boat float. We go to great lengths to create a space that allows you to focus on the things that will make you happy: shipping great features you helped dream up and build.

What will you do?

Our success is the result of our 'product first' approach, but from a marketing perspective, there is still a huge potential! As Head of Marketing, you will establish an excellent marketing strategy and will be responsible for the implementation all over Europe.

You and your team are responsible for owning a diverse range of cross-channel projects, campaigns and continuous processes from start to finish. With more than 60.000 active merchants, 2.000 partners and a YoY growth rate of over 100%, finding the right mix of direct performance and brand marketing is essential for all of our initiatives. You will create workflows where we turn online and offline marketing into performance-driven activities and constantly measure, analyse and optimize all activities based on the data insights.

You will closely work together with Client Services, Design, Sales, Growth and International teams to drive growth and ensure retention.

Your scope includes

  • Crafting and implementing the marketing strategy, creating and monitoring the budget as well as coordinating the execution;
  • Manage your team of marketing specialists and scale up the team for European expansion;
  • Develop a deep understanding of our merchant portfolio and what drives them to use our platform, in order to maximize the conversion of leads to merchants;
  • Refine the Mollie story and bring it consistently to the market through cross-national and multinational content marketing campaigns;
  • Set-up collaborative marketing campaigns and events with our partners and develop initiatives to strengthen our community and resonate with target audiences;
  • Combining great interpersonal skills with a strong commitment to ongoing innovation and rigorous execution.

Desired qualification and experience:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years experience in a relevant field in a high-growth environment;
  • Experience as a team manager. High standards of leadership skills and ability to represent the department at senior levels;
  • Extensive knowledge of the latest digital marketing strategies, technologies and tactics to attract and develop new contacts in target markets, accounts and job profiles;
  • Demonstrable experience with marketing campaigns and web technologies (e.g. online tools and social media);
  • Detail orientation: you have high standards and dig into the details to assure that your output consistently meets a high bar;
  • Highly analytical and systematic;
  • An excellent understanding of users in tech and e-commerce is a major plus;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • A working proficiency in Dutch, fluency in English and preferably another major European language is an important asset.

What do you get?

  • Excellent employment terms, including a competitive salary;
  • 25 days of annual leave;
  • A position in a unique, young and fast growing fintech company;
  • Autonomy to develop solutions and implement them;
  • Best possible tech setup that you need to do your job;
  • Freedom and flexibility;
  • A stimulating and inspiring environment
