Product Manager (Core Accounting)

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager who will drive all products around our internal accounting system.

Full-time · Amsterdam

Hi, we are Mollie! 👋🏼

Our mission is creating a greater playing field for everyone. By offering convenient, safe and worldwide payment solutions we remove barriers for companies of all sizes to compete on equal terms.

Your opportunity:

As the Product Manager Core Accounting team you will drive all products around our internal accounting system. The ideal candidate for this role will have senior level experience in product management and have an understanding of doing bookkeeping and reconciliation. You will need to have experience of simplifying complex processes in easy to use products that will be used by customers with love.

Mollie is well-known in the Benelux market, and rapidly expanding to the rest of Europe. For that we need all the payment methods that are used in the local markets. You will contribute by analysing these markets and define priorities of all the payment methods used by local consumers. You will also optimise current payment methods for the merchants. All this needs to be done the Mollie way, meaning simple, easy and elegant.

While doing so, you will also work with some of our most skilled engineers on scalability, stability and security of the Mollie platform. You will be one of the most important links in our European expansion from the technical perspective. So in case you are up for a challenge and impact, here you go!

What you'll be doing:

You will enable merchants to easily do their bookkeeping via Settlement Reporting and Balance Reporting through the Mollie Dashboard, automated APIs or exports. You will support other product teams to interact with the balance of the merchant. Next to that, you will work together with our Finance department to be sure all funds are tracked correctly.

The most important projects lined up for you:

  • Making accounting flows easily accessible to other teams in a standardised fashion.
  • Integrate a new ERP system to track all funds correctly.

  • Ensure a scalable performant foundation, by developing a new microservice, dedicated to this practise.

You will join a highly energised team of product managers from various backgrounds. Your agile knowledge and change management skills will help us take the product practice to the next level. You will explore user needs and define how they can be translated into new features and products.

Your development team will be a good mix of engineers of various skill levels, with some of the most experienced engineers at Mollie. For us the quality is everything, coding is considered to be real craftsmanship. You will work closely with the engineering team to ship key features necessary for our growth. You will inspire our development teams by making sure they understand the business, vision and customer needs.

Being authentic is our baseline

Mollie is one of Europe’s fastest-growing fintech companies. We provide a simple and clear payment API, which enables webshop and app builders to implement more than ten different payment methods in one go.

In the first few years of existence, Mollie was a developer-only adventure, and about 15 years later devs and techs still comprise roughly 45% of all staff. As a natural consequence, Mollie still is—and aims to be—highly tech-minded.

This focus on the technical side can be found in various things. Like, you pick whatever tools you want to use to get the job done. MacBooks, absurdly large or many screens, top-notch noise-cancelling headphones and whatever other equipment makes your nerd-boat float. We go to great lengths to create a space that allows you to focus on the things that will make you happy: shipping great features you helped dream up and build.

We don’t have code monkeys, but we do give you a problem and trust that you will create an outstanding solution. We believe in sane working hours and long-term solutions, instead of 70-hour work weeks with temporary workarounds.
