We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager for our division focussing on Customer Acquisition, Onboarding and Support, who wants to make an impact by working on next-generation financial APIs and products, adopted by customers throughout Europe.

Your Opportunity

Mollie is investing heavily in growing the Engineering department in pursuit of becoming Europe’s most-loved PSP.

This role provides a unique leadership opportunity in which you can shape the long-term technical vision and strategy for a critical area of the business. We are looking for an experienced leader who has a proven track record in building high-performing teams that excel in quality, rapid, and data-driven product development, focussed on delighting customers and scaling the business.

This role requires a creative thinker, problem solver, and great people manager to lead a strong team of engineering team leads. You will be responsible for building out the area responsible for the acquisition funnel and onboarding processes; a critical domain for Mollie, which onboards thousands of new businesses every week.

You will be reporting directly to our CTO, and have the opportunity to make a direct impact on Mollie’s exciting growth journey. 

What you'll be doing

  • Establish and drive the long term technical vision and strategy for the Customer acquisition, onboarding & support domain to best support the company mission and the growth of Mollie.

  • Work closely with different stakeholders across the business in order to acquire new customers, onboard them and support them, directly contributing to business growth.
  • Take an active role in hiring, direct people management, technical direction, and building high performing teams.

    What you have

    • 10+ years of experience with 5+ in an engineering management role, of which 2+ years of managing leaders.
    • Experience working in a high-growth, high-paced environment
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Ability to develop long-term strategies that support business goals, and influence leadership decisions
    • Great spoken and written communication skills, effective with business and technical audiences
    • Servant leader who motivates others by creating a climate in which people are able to do their best work
    • Growth and learning mindset

    Nice to have

    • Experience in a regulated industry, preferably financial.
    • Familiarity with compliance topics, namely KYC, AML, and risk management,
    • Experience with machine learning.
