Business Analyst

Mollie is on the lookout for a results-driven analyst to provide insights into our Commercial performance. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders in Commerce to understand their needs and inquiries. Subsequently, you will support in modelling and generating insights and dashboards to understand performance, formulate recommendations based on these insights, and support in decision-making.

As a member of our Commerce Optimization team, you will play a key role in helping Mollie in achieving our growth objectives by enhancing the efficiencies of our Commerce team, by making it more data-centric. Reporting to the Commercial Insights & Analytics Lead, you will be responsible for developing deep understanding into commercial business performance and providing the different teams with the right insights to improve performance.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Act as the authority on Mollie's Commercial performance, tracking key metrics, and relaying feedback to commercial leadership and teams

  • Collaborate closely with our Pricing team to provide support on pricing-related topics and lead the the pricing analytics strategy

  • Serve as a strategic partner for the country VPs, helping them understand business performance and making informed decisions by providing valuable insights

  • Develop, optimise, and automate reporting and dashboarding using our Looker BI tool to support strategic decision-making and day-to-day operations

  • Proactively identify new ways to leverage existing data or identify new data sources to bring new insights to drive better commercial recommendations and outcomes

  • Conduct in-depth analyses to facilitate decision-making regarding commercial initiatives

  • Help oversee various commercial data models, including commercial business logic, enabling other team members and business users to answer their questions

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Data, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, and Sales teams


What You'll Bring

  • 1-5 years of experience in a similar analytical role; experience in a commercial environment is a plus

  • Demonstrate curiosity, a willingness to acquire new skills, and maintain a positive attitude

  • ​​Strong stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with diverse teams and senior stakeholders

  • Proficiency in conducting quantitative commercial analyses and root-cause analysis

  • Effective communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts and presenting data and analysis to stakeholders

  • Eager to explore and learn about various business areas, including sales, marketing, technology, product, and business intelligence

  • Curiosity and a proactive willingness to acquire and apply skills in data-driven storytelling, insights generation, and compelling presentation techniques

  • Extensive experience with Excel/Google Sheets and proficiency with a BI tool, with a preference for Looker; familiarity with other commercial tools is a plus (e.g., Salesforce CRM).

  • Motivation to learn programming languages like SQL is a plus; proficiency in SQL or other programming skills is an extra plus

  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of other European languages (Dutch, French) is a plus
