Full-time

Engineering Manager - Channels

Your opportunity:

Being a part of our Channels team you will focus on building the communication tools to streamline answer discovery and unlock efficiency gains to improve our merchants experience. Together with your team, you will facilitate the business growth by tailoring solutions to our customer needs.

As an Engineering Manager at Mollie, you are responsible for building & growing a world-class engineering team with a hacker’s mindset towards problem-solving. You will be involved in performance cycles and help your team members grow and reach the next stages of their career. Next to that, you will be responsible for driving technical discussions within the team focusing on building the best-in-class payments experience.

You will partner with a wide range of stakeholders from the business, product, UX, data to own and evolve the roadmap and technical strategy. Working in a fast paced environment, this is a highly critical and visible role that has a tangible impact on the end customer experience, as well as the company's bottomline.

We are 100% data-driven and have ambitious KPIs to ensure we’re focusing on the right things. We work in an agile environment, where everyone gets a lot of autonomy, as long as it adds value to the products that users love to use.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will guide a technical team managing their performance cycles, providing continuous feedback and enabling them to reach the next stages in their career. You will take pride in your ability to both nurture and grow high performing teams.

  • All of our managers are hands-on so we will expect you to be technically savvy having a proven track record of working with large-scale distributed systems and/or guiding teams through technical transitions;

  • You will be involved in the hiring process in order to build a world-class engineering team;

  • You will inspire change and motivate engineers to develop scalable solutions;

  • Develop a positive & collaborative work culture that empowers the team to perform at their best;

What you have:

  • Great management and team development skills: ability to set roadmap and goals for a team and every one of its members, delegate intelligently, mentor engineers, deliver frequent and transparent feedback, help team members grow in their careers and deliver results

  • Management experience: Preferably 2+ years management experience. You have experience in software engineering where you have demonstrated capability to successfully recruit, retain and grow top talent engineers

  • Engineering excellence. You have significant hands-on engineering experience in a variety of contexts, during which you've built scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant back-end systems using PHP technologies

  • Bias towards action. You believe that speed and quality aren't mutually exclusive. You've shown good judgement about shipping as fast as possible while still making sure that products are built in a sustainable, responsible way -- and you're comfortable making mistakes, provided you learn from them.

  • Passion and energy. You feel ownership over everything you ship. You bring infectious enthusiasm to all your endeavours. You see new tests as an opportunity to contribute, make an impact, and grow.

  • Team player mindset. You foster a culture of collaboration and support. You help teams grow by relying on others' candid feedback for continuous improvement. You inspire and mentor others on the team so that those around you can also learn and grow.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move freely. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let's move the world forward together.

Kindly note that relocation support is not offered for candidates outside of Europe for this role.
