Scope of the role:
We are looking for a highly motivated Financial Crime Investigations (FCI) Specialist to help us to prevent fraud, mitigate risks & to deter financial crime related issues.
The objective of the FCI Team and you as a FCI Specialist is to manage all risks that are related to merchant fraud (Financial, Reputational, Integrity & Operational). To achieve this you will be working closely with internal stakeholders such as CDD, Commerce & Support, but also external stakeholders such as law enforcement & acquirers.
You will be responsible to mitigate the risks mentioned in combination with constantly changing technology, continuously adhering to law and regulations and maintain a thorough record of the steps taken.
Scope of Responsibility:
Follow up on suspicious merchant activity.
Carry out proactive and reactive fraud investigations (EDR’s) by analyzing payment data and merchants accounts to discover anomalies and trends for fraud or financial crime related risks/threats.
Verify and handle alerts to prevent financial loss and reputational damage for Mollie and its customers.
Assess alerts according to Mollie’s risk appetite and policies.
Support stakeholders with Risk & Fraud related matters.
Work assigned queues, emails, and service requests, as well as other risk-related items on a daily basis.
Respond to customer inquiries via e-mail in an efficient and effective manner and perform phone outreach as needed.
Keep up to date on applicable regulations and utilize independent judgment in the application of those regulations.
Understand and research customer behaviour and share knowledge with wider team and peers.
Fluency in English and Dutch (additional European language in a plus).
Strong interest in AML, KYC, CDD, fraud, financial risk, operational risk or credit risk.
Sound understanding of one or more of the following areas: Fraud Investigation, Card Issuing or Merchant Acquiring Credit Card business, Finance, Protection Services, Chargeback Processing.
CAMS, NCI or a similar AML/CTF certification is preferable.
Continuously learn and challenge the status quo.

Functional knowledge of business operations and related technology.
Up-to-date knowledge of industry methods and techniques.
Very strong organizational, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work on your own as well as being a team player.
