Senior Appian Engineer

Your opportunity

You will join our growing Appian Platform team, with the mission of enabling other Mollie teams to build cutting-edge applications in Appian to fulfil their use cases. You’ll ensure our code quality and system scalability, so that we can have a continuous delivery of high-quality software.

You will help us grow our Appian practice while working on an Appian instance that’s up-to-date with the latest standards in the market. You will put your skills to the test, and allow yourself to grow and learn rapidly, with the support of smart and friendly colleagues.


What you'll be doing

  • Join a team of Appian engineers, including a product manager

  • Help maintain a sustainable architecture for our Appian platform, following best practices

  • Continuously improve the developer experience for anyone building in Appian

  • Coach and train engineering teams towards learning Appian

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency by using Appian

  • Develop and maintain reusable components and an Appian design system

  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation including design specifications, user guides, and best practices

  • Evangelise Appian platform towards the whole Mollie community

  • Monitor and optimise performance on a regular basis

  • Perform code reviews and maintain coding standards to ensure the quality of deliverables


What you'll bring

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Appian Development and 5+ years of overall IT experience

  • Good knowledge of Appian architecture, best practices and BPMN standards

  • Familiar with Appian plug-ins, including rules engines

  • Hands-on experience of Appian Objects and building scalable enterprise applications following Appian Best practices

  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs

  • Hands-on expertise with SQL databases

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, and experience working effectively with different stakeholders

  • Creative problem solving skills, and ability to troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues

  • Familiar with SDLC process and Agile ways of working

  • Experience in deploying enterprise-scale Appian applications

  • Experience in leading and mentoring other developers in Appian.

Nice to have

  • Appian Certified Associate Developer certification (minimum)

  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes

  • Experience in Appian plug-in development and system integrations/configurations in cloud-hosted Appian environments
