Mollie is one of Europe's fastest-growing fintech companies. We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who wants to make an impact by working on making our next-generation financial APIs and payments platform ultra reliable.

You will be joining the Database Engineering team. We are the core of the Mollie Cloud Platform, and our mission is to provide Database-as-a-Service to our internal customers. 

Our vision - easy and reliable databases that scale. We’ll get there by building a top-notch database infrastructure and underlying automation.

What you’ll do

• Build a compliant and easy to use platform, preferably exposed as a set of services.

• Leverage cutting edge technologies and techniques to add new features to the platform, and yes - we have plenty of opportunities to do that :)

• Collaborate closely with our stakeholders including Application engineers, security and risk officers and your peers to build wholesome platform experience.

• Strike a balance between shipping frequently and maintaining a high level of system  reliability and security. You will work with stakeholders to set and maintain SLOs and SLAs that meet our business and merchants requirements.

• We care for quality and well-designed user experiences - for engineers and non-engineers alike. This translates to well-operated and monitored systems, designing and implementing for failure, knowledge about distributed systems and a passion for automation.

  
  

To top it off, here are some roadmap items we are currently working on:

• Automate MySQL master node failover.

• Provide a self-service DB schema migration capability.

• Provide a fully automated, self-service DB multi-region cluster creation.

  
  

What you have

• Business proficiency with English.

• Minimum of 4 years experience as an Engineer in infrastructure or platform area.

• Demonstrated expertise in HashiCorp Terraform and Ansible and a deep understanding of infrastructure as code principles.

• Experience with any Public Cloud Hyperscaler is a must.

• Experience with designing, building and maintaining automations, systems and tools that keep downtime at a minimum.

• Experience dealing with large-scale applications in complex environments.

• Experience with programming languages like Python.

• Know your way around Linux systems and the shell.

• Experience in managing production incidents during on-call shifts.

• You genuinely care about your teammates, able to provide meaningful feedback. 

  
  

Bonus:

• You have experience in managing large-scale, high availability database clusters.

• Previous experience in working with geographically distributed teams.

• Previous experience with GCP.
