You will play a key role in the development of new features, maintenance of existing features, and creating the best user experience possible for our merchants. What you'll be doing:
 
As a member of one of our multidisciplinary product engineering teams, you will be responsible for bringing a next-level user experience to our merchant dashboard. Whether that is by building new features, making things faster, adding micro animations, or improving the accessibility. We trust you to take ownership of the area your team operates but also work with UI engineers in other teams to maintain consistency and share knowledge. An example of this is contributing to our design system, so that other engineers can benefit from what you built.
 
Our architecture:
 
Mollie’s frontend landscape consists of multiple apps, and each application has its own setup, optimized for the app’s purpose. We like proven technology. This is reflected in the stack of our merchant dashboard, which is a React application written in Typescript and has scaled well for us over the years. We deeply care about performance, stability, and resilience. This means shipping high quality, well-tested code, and constantly looking for small refactoring opportunities that all add up in the end.
 
What you have:
 
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, we value this the most out of all things listed here.
- Knowledge of language primitives. You can write solid JavaScript, CSS, and HTML without relying on frameworks, libraries, or plugins. You understand the platform you’re using, and are comfortable interacting with native browser APIs.
- Experience with styling web applications, using modern layout techniques like flexbox or CSS grid.
- The drive to make our product available to everyone by applying accessibility web standards.
- An eye for detail, and a knack for creating intuitive user experiences.
- Experience with performance optimization, from delivering smooth animations to reducing the time to interactive.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing complex front-end web applications.
 
Nice to haves:
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as React, Vue, and Angular.
- Experience with TypeScript.
- Experience with design systems and/or internally developed component libraries.
