What you'll be doing
- Lead the implementation of data pipelines and storage capabilities within our data platform on GCP
- Define and document standards and policies in our data platform
- Create reliable and scalable data collection processes
- Share learnings and best practices within the organisation
- Collaborate with internal teams on data collection and product measurement
- Identify and drive opportunities to improve our data platform
- Ensure our data is managed and secured in accordance with organisational policies
- Technologies you'll be working with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Dataproc), Python, Apache Airflow and Terraform
What you'll bring
- Strong programming skills (we use Python), proficient in T-SQL
- A good understanding of data storage concepts like relational stores, columnar stores, partitioning, indexing
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Airflow
- Experience with containerization and runtime environments (docker, kubernetes)
- Experience on event based and/or distributed computing applications, i.e. Pub/Sub, Spark, Beam
- Good understanding of software development practices, including CI/CD, Git, Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
- You are a team player and you’re comfortable collaborating autonomously with multiple teams, systems and products in a dynamic environment
- A problem solving mentality with strong leadership skills to provide guidance and drive projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
