Hej! I’m Dio, and I’m excited to be part of our (growing) team in Sweden. With Sweden being a new and promising market for Mollie, I’m eager to explore what succeeds, what doesn’t, and how we can make a lasting impact. Here’s a little about my journey so far!
Why Mollie?
I’ve always been drawn to the fintech industry, and when the opportunity came up to be the first on the ground in a new market, I knew I had to take it. Being part of something from the start and working with a product of this capacity made my decision an easy one.
What excites you about being part of the team in Sweden?
Being one of the first employees! Right now, I am the Sweden team - but I’m certainly not alone. I have incredible support from the leadership team, and their expertise has been invaluable. Rick Emondts from our Market Expansion Domain has successfully led launches in new markets, while Adrien Dupuis, our sales lead, brings years of experience to the table. Additionally, Marcus Granström our VP of Product and ex-Klarna, is a goldmine of industry knowledge. With their guidance and support, I feel well-equipped to tackle this challenge.

Without a doubt, it would be a Kanelbulle! Like Mollie, it has been around longer than you might think, and it serves all kinds of needs - just like our product does for businesses everywhere and every day.
What is a typical day at Mollie?
With just four weeks in, every day has been different! I’ve met so many helpful people who genuinely want to support me, and I’m enjoying the challenge of figuring things out as we go. No two days look the same, and that’s exactly what makes this role so exciting.
What’s one thing you wish more people knew about working at Mollie?
One thing that stands out to me is how product-driven Mollie is. More than half of all employees are in Engineering teams, showing that Mollie prioritises the product and its features above all else for its customers.
What’s one Swedish tradition Mollie must embrace?
Definitely Midsummer! It’s my favourite holiday - when the sun never goes down, and you celebrate with friends. If you ever visit Sweden for Midsummer, expect to dance around a pole, play games, sing songs, drink snaps, and most likely party until morning! But I’ve also heard that the Mollie events are closely aligned with my idea of Midsummer in Sweden, so I’m really looking forward to them!
Being one of the first team members in Sweden has been an exciting journey so far, and I can’t wait to see where we go from here. Looking forward to growing Mollie in Sweden and welcoming more team members soon! Come join us. 😉
