Your impact
Credit risk at Mollie isn't a back-office function — it's a core part of how we grow responsibly.
As Senior Teamlead Credit Risk, you'll lead a team of five analysts in making sharp, well-reasoned decisions about merchant onboarding and portfolio health. You'll be the person who ensures we're approving the right merchants, at the right time, with the right level of exposure - and that our existing portfolio stays aligned with our risk appetite as it evolves.
But this role is about more than maintaining what's already working. Mollie is expanding and you'll be at the centre of that shift. You'll design and build the credit risk infrastructure - policies, models, processes - that makes it possible for us to confidently offer new financial products to our customers. That means building frameworks largely from scratch, in a fast-moving environment where your decisions have real and lasting impact.
You'll report directly to the Monitoring Operations Lead, and serve as the key point of contact on team performance, portfolio status, and strategic risk development. What you'll ship
Full ownership of the existing merchant credit risk portfolio — hitting all team SLAs for underwriting and periodic reviews, and keeping portfolio quality sharp as merchant volumes grow.
A detailed, documented roadmap for the design and implementation of a new credit risk framework for Mollie's new products — built from the ground up.
A smart, scalable credit risk system that reduces friction in the customer lifecycle, enabling faster approvals for good merchants without compromising risk standards.
Clear performance and development plans for each member of the credit risk team, with a focus on coaching, growth, and building long-term capability.
Optimised assessment processes that leverage AI tooling to automate routine cases — freeing the team to focus human effort where it matters most.
Regular, structured reporting to leadership on portfolio performance, gaps, and where strategic attention is needed.
What you'll bring
5+ years of people management experience, with a track record of leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
Hands-on experience in both PSP and banking environments, you understand how credit risk works differently across these contexts and can bridge the two.
Proven expertise in credit model and policy development, including building credit risk frameworks and scorecards from scratch.
Strong stakeholder management skills, you're comfortable working across sales, operations, and leadership, and you know how to communicate risk clearly to different audiences.
A hands-on, operational mindset, you don't just set direction, you roll up your sleeves and get into the details when the situation calls for it.
A genuine motivation to work in a fast-paced fintech environment and contribute to building new products , this role is for someone who's energised by growth, not slowed down by it.
