Scope of Position:
Mollie is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Specialist to join our Risk & Fraud (R&F) department. The role of the Credit Risk team is to act as the initial gatekeepers when onboarding new merchants and monitoring the existing portfolio to detect any credit risk issues. By doing so, we help to ensure Mollie implements the appropriate controls and monitoring in order to safeguard Mollie from potential risks. You will work closely with the commerce team, supporting Mollie’s growth and value creation ambitions. In this role we are looking for someone who can provide support and guidance to other team members and help grow and develop the team.
Scope of Responsibility:
Conduct full credit assessment of new merchants and define appropriate recommendations to mitigate risks
Ongoing monitoring of existing portfolios(Our portfolios consist with both SMBs and Enterprise) and advice on changes in credit limit and collateral setup based on the outcome of the analysis
Assist your peers in the credit risk team and take ownership of more complex escalations.
Assist in the development of processes, credit risk models and policies.
Handle requests from internal/external stakeholders in credit risk matters
Analyze financial statements to assess credit worthiness and develop a view of merchant financial health and any risk to Mollie’s operations.
Analyze a wide range of data - business models, credit scores, external & internal processing data, bank statements, peer comparisons etc. to develop a view on a merchant’s risk profile & Mollie relationship.
Communicate professionally and effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and EXCO level on risk insights and recommendations.
Experience/ Requirements:
4 years of analytical experience related to commercial credit assessment, having a excellent understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts
Experience in handle large exposure and complex business model/risky sector
Substantial knowledge on e-commerce verticals
Strong analytical skills: you like to understand how things work and how trends arise.
Functional knowledge of business operations and related technology
Strong organizational, verbal and interpersonal skills
Academic background in finance, accounting or related field
Full working proficiency in English
