About the Role

As a CDD Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in building, developing, and leading a high-performing CDD team in our growing Maastricht office. 

You will oversee day-to-day operations related to onboarding and periodic reviews, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, meeting KPIs, and delivering exceptional value to our customers. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative, accountable, and growth-driven team culture.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and coach a motivated and proactive team responsible for onboarding and periodic reviews of our customers

  • Own team KPIs and performance by using data to monitor output, drive improvements, and escalate critical issues when needed

  • Serve as the day-to-day expert and escalation point for the team

  • Ensure that team workflows align with internal frameworks and risk appetite, driving consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Promote a culture of feedback, collaboration, and open communication both within the team and with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Proactively assess and adjust daily work allocation to ensure optimal output and quality

  • Lead performance reviews, calibrations, and career development conversations, identifying and closing gaps

  • Participate in and lead hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives for new team members

  • Foster alignment between customer needs and business goals, continuously seeking opportunities to improve customer value delivery

  • Partner with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Product, and other departments to drive improvements and support audit readiness and regulatory changes


What We Expect from You

  • You have experience working in or closely with CDD, AML, or other risk operations, and are ready to take on a leadership role or expand your existing leadership responsibilities

  • You speak Dutch and English fluently

  • You have demonstrated the ability to guide and support teams in an operational environment, ideally within a regulated industry such as fintech or financial services

  • You are comfortable working with data to identify trends, improve performance, and solve problems

  • You are proactive, organized, and have strong communication skills that help you align with stakeholders and drive outcomes

  • You are an effective communicator, capable of tailoring messaging to your audience and fostering alignment across teams

  • You show strong stakeholder management skills, navigating conflicts and driving alignment across different business domains

  • You champion process improvements and drive your team to adopt efficient, scalable ways of working

  • You understand the balance between regulatory compliance and customer-centricity, helping your team deliver both

  • Nice to have: Experience using KYC/CDD systems, workflow tools and familiarity with case management platforms.
