Your impact: Build Mollie’s CEE Business from the Ground Up
This isn't a traditional role where the playbook is already written. We're looking for an entrepreneur at heart to be the architect and driving force of our growth in Central & Eastern Europe.
Your mission is to transform a greenfield opportunity into a thriving market. You will do this by identifying high-potential opportunities, forging our first critical customer and partner relationships, and hire and inspire a local team with a winning mentality. This is a hands-on role for a leader who wants to own the strategy and the results. You’ll report to the head of expansion. You will work closely with the local and central teams and functions.
This role is for a builder who can build a foundation on which we can scale. If you're ready to move beyond writing a plan, roll-up your sleeves and start executing it, this is for you. You will work with a strong product, loved brand, and backed by a collaborative European team.
What you’ll ship
Design the go-to-market blueprint: develop and execute the CEE expansion strategy, defining which countries, verticals, and customer segments to prioritize to create a repeatable model for success.
Spearhead market entry: be the first on the ground to explore, validate, and secure our initial wins, personally building the foundational relationships that will anchor our presence.
Build and inspire the team: hire, coach, and motivate the initial CEE team, fostering an entrepreneurial culture focused on ambitious goals and high performance.
Lead from the front: personally manage a pipeline of strategic, high-value opportunities to set the standard for your team and establish Mollie at the highest levels of business.
Act as the voice of the CEE market: serve as the crucial link between the region and our central teams, channeling market intelligence to shape our global product, marketing, and partnership strategies.
What you’ll bring
6+ years in B2B sales with 2–3+ years in sales leadership or team management; SaaS/fintech/payments experience is a plus.
A proven track record in a go-to-market leadership role (e.g., Business Development, Market Expansion, early-stage Commercial Lead) where you successfully launched a new region or business line.
A strong, first-hand understanding of the commercial landscape, business culture, and key networks across Central & Eastern Europe.
A builder’s track record: the ability to blend high-level strategy with hands-on execution. You can create the plan, build the key relationships, and motivate a team to deliver results, all at the same time.
You have an entrepreneurial mindset and thrive on building things from scratch and are energized by the challenge and ambiguity of entering new markets.
You excel at building trust and credibility with senior executives, partners, and your team, both internally and externally.
Strategic and Analytical: You use data and market signals to make informed decisions, prioritize opportunities, and measure progress effectively.
You know how to leverage AI to enhance your sales efficiency
Fluent in English and at least one other CEE language, Polish preferred.
