Your impact
Lisbon is one of Mollie's most important growth markets – and this role sits right at the centre of it. As our Senior Talent Acquisition Business Partner for Portugal, you'll own end-to-end hiring for our most business-critical tech roles. Application Engineering is the heartbeat of what we're building in Lisbon, and you'll be the person making sure we hire the right people, fast. No hand-holding. No waiting. You see what needs to happen and you make it happen.
This isn't a generalist role. You'll live and breathe tech hiring – partnering directly with senior Engineering and Product stakeholders to shape hiring strategy, sharpen briefs, and raise the bar on every search. You'll bring structure where it's missing, challenge assumptions that slow things down, and take ownership of projects that currently sit with leadership. You're the kind of person who spots a blocker on Monday and has it resolved by Tuesday.
The Lisbon office is set to grow significantly – and tech hiring is what will make or break that growth. You'll be the person who builds the TA foundation that makes it possible. Real ownership, real visibility, and a direct line to Mollie's future in Portugal.
What you'll ship
Drive hiring outcomes for Application Engineering and tech roles in Portugal – owning the full process from intake to offer, with pace and precision
Become the trusted TA partner for senior Engineering and Product stakeholders in Lisbon, shaping how they think about hiring, not just executing on it
Bring structure and rigour to tech intake, calibration, and pipeline planning – so hiring decisions reflect both immediate needs and long-term team goals
Identify and fix process, execution, or alignment issues that are slowing down tech hiring – proactively, before they become someone else's problem
Take ownership of larger tech hiring projects that currently sit with leadership, freeing them up and raising TA's strategic impact in the market
Plug into and build on Mollie's already AI-enabled recruiting practice – using and contributing to the automation, AI tools, and data-driven workflows we are building cross-craft in sourcing, workflows, decision-making , candidate experience to ultimately raise the bar on hiring quality
Contribute Portugal-specific market intelligence – tech talent landscape, compensation benchmarks, candidate behaviour – to sharpen decisions and improve quality of hire
What you'll bring
6+ years of in-house recruiting experience with a strong focus on tech hiring – Application Engineering, Software Engineering, or adjacent technical functions in high-growth or scale-up environments
Proven ability to engage, influence and challenge senior Engineering and Product stakeholders – you're a true business partner, not an order taker
End-to-end ownership of complex tech searches, including high-volume evergreen roles and senior or niche engineering positions
Strong project ownership: you pick things up independently, drive them to completion, and resolve blockers without waiting to be told
Comfortable using recruiting data, pipeline analysis, and market insights to guide decisions – and confident enough to act on what you find
Demonstrated ability to build structure and improve execution in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where the playbook doesn't always exist yet
