Head of Ecom/ Product Partnerships

Your opportunity:


Mollie is on a mission to become the most loved Payment Service Provider in Europe. Partnerships are a critical part of our commercial strategy and plan for profitable growth. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our Partnership organisation/domain as the Head of Ecommerce Platform and Product Partnerships.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for our ecommerce platform, as well as establishing and managing partnerships with key product providers (Alternative Payment Methods, Scheme, Payment Technology Providers). 


The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ecommerce trends, a proven track record of successful partnerships, and the ability to drive growth through strategic initiatives in countries where Mollie currently operates (BNL, DAT, FR, UK). 


As a natural commercial leader you’ll be comfortable leading from the front, delivering results through your team but also supporting active discussions with senior stakeholders externally. You’ll also be able to implement growth initiatives, working closely with the local and central teams and functions . You’ll be comfortable navigating through commercial, product, integration and marketing conversations with internal and external stakeholders.


Part of our global Partnerships team, you’ll report to the VP Partnerships and support him with implementing a successful commercial partnerships strategy. In this role, you’ll lead a team of 5-7 Partner Managers in charge of engaging, structuring and developing partnerships with strategic ecommerce and product partners. 


What you will be doing:


  • Manage the global Ecom and Product Partnerships team to achieve revenue growth and profitability goals

  • Create and execute go-to-market strategies for the Ecom/Product channels, working with local leadership to ensure alignment with the wider commercial strategy in each region (across Sales, Marketing etc.)

  • Streamline ways of working with the broader partnership teams (Integration teams, Partner Marketing)

  • Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.

  • Keep a close attention to deals profitability and maintain a regular inspection of our operating margin performance.

  • Measure and optimise conversion of the leads, working closely together with direct sales, the self serve channel and the marketing team

  • Coach the team to increase the acquisition of new partners as well as increasing the commercial outcomes with existing partners

  • Champion the Agency channel internally, identifying improvement initiatives and working cross functionally to drive successful implementation

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in the ecommerce and product space.


What you will bring:


  • 10+ years work experience in Business Development and Partnerships for a digital product in either Fintech or SaaS or Ecom Platforms

  • Cross-functional experience working with various internal and external stakeholders in an international environment

  • Significant experience in managing strategic business development deals and pipeline as well as a track record in managing partners, deals and negotiations first-hand

  • You bring a strategic and analytical mindset and strong problem solving and communication skills. A data driven approach is second nature to you and you continuously improve and optimise your business

  • You love taking ownership and are proactive, executing at pace to drive improvement and exploit opportunities

  • You have strong people leadership skills with 7 years + of experience ideally in a second line management position. 

  • You have passion for coaching and driving results through the team. You are a great team player and enjoy working on cross-functional teams

  • You also don't shy away from rolling up your sleeves and helping out where needed
