Partner Manager - Italy

At Mollie, we’re on a mission to make payments and money management effortless for every business in Europe. We started 20 years ago when we launched a more direct, affordable way for companies to get paid. That provided an alternative to the frustrating, overpriced solutions that banks offered at the time.

Today, we serve more than 250,000 businesses across Europe with an all-in-one solution that simplifies payments and money management. And we’re a 850-strong team of product, finance, support, commerce, and engineering specialists working across Europe – from Lisbon to London.

Italy is a focus market for our international growth and we are therefore looking for a Partner Manager to strengthen our GTM team. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and shape the presence of Mollie. You’ll work closely with other teams in Sales, Operations and Product to ensure the best customer experience.

Your opportunity

You’ll help Mollie grow by managing a wide variety of channel partners, including digital agencies, local e-commerce partners and revenue-enhancing integrations. This is a unique opportunity to be our first partnership manager in Italy, playing a foundational role in establishing our local partnerships. You’ll build relationships with new and existing partners, collaborate closely with the sales team to provide leads, initiate campaigns and events with partners, and represent Mollie at such events. You’ll report to the Head of Partnerships with accountability to Rick Emondts (Head of Expansion - GTM).

What you'll be doing

  • Identify and establish partnerships with agencies using various methods, including outbound sales, personal network, social selling, and participating in events

  • Nurture a portfolio of agency partnerships throughout their whole lifecycle; from pitching and demonstrating the value of Mollie, to building high-value relationships over multiple touch-points with various stakeholders

  • Apply your Partner Sales skills to unlock the maximum potential of the partnership, helping agencies grow and generate high-quality leads

  • Ideating, launching, and optimising co-marketing activities with partners from each channel (e.g. webinars, white-papers, panel participation, etc.)

  • Acting as the main point of contact for Mollie within the Italian agency community, showcasing your expertise in our product by using consultative sales strategies.

  • Transforming agencies into advocates for the Mollie brand, encouraging them to recommend Mollie to their clients and wider e-commerce networks.

  • Create and execute go-to-market strategies for each channel, identify strategic partners for each channel and collaborate deals with them

What you will bring

  • 3-5 years work experience in a sales or partnerships role in the technology industry (preferably in the areas of e-commerce or payments).

  • A strong interest in e-commerce or payments, with an enthusiasm for developing meaningful partnerships, creating commercial opportunities, and are well-connected within the industry.

  • You are strong in managing a sales pipeline that consists of larger strategic business development deals as much as smaller lead generation deals.

  • You have great experience in deal negotiation and partner management

  • You have an independent and entrepreneurial mindset, meaning you are used to fast execution, love change and creating new opportunities, and take ownership. You also don't shy away from rolling up your sleeves and helping out where needed

  • A collaborative team player with experience working with different commercial teams to drive channel growth and success.

  • You are fluent in Italian and English and have worked in Italy for at least 3 years to understand the local market well.

  • A willingness to travel, including visiting partners and to participate in trade fairs and events.
