Your impact

This is a pivotal, senior role in strengthening Mollie’s entire compliance framework across multiple European jurisdictions. The stakes are high: your work ensures we can continue to scale fast and responsibly, turning regulatory complexity into a competitive advantage for the thousands of businesses who rely on us.

You won't just advise; you'll be a trusted, hands-on leader within the Compliance Domain. This role requires a professional who is ready to proactively challenge the business, embed compliance into product design, and guide internal stakeholders through a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. We need your proven regulatory expertise from the financial services sector to cultivate a strong, scalable compliance culture as we accelerate our mission.


What you'll ship

  • Lead the design and enhancement of Mollie’s core compliance framework and risk-based approach across AML/CFT, sanctions, and governance.

  • Act as a senior advisor to Legal, Risk, Operations, and Product, embedding compliant policies and controls into critical operational areas.

  • Translate complex regulatory changes (PSD2/3, AMLD6, ALMR, etc.) into clear, actionable business requirements and procedures.

  • Conduct proactive compliance risk assessments and thematic reviews to identify and close gaps before they become a problem.

  • Act as a mentor and people leader, actively supporting the professional development and day-to-day activities of other compliance officers.

  • Oversee and coordinate key compliance processes, including timely regulatory reporting, robust policy management, and training programs.


What you'll bring

  • 7+ years of dedicated compliance experience within a regulated financial institution (PSP, EMI, bank, or equivalent).

  • Proven generalist profile covering both financial crime (AML/CFT) and regulatory/compliance advisory areas.

  • Strong understanding of European payments regulation, including PSD2, AMLD, EBA Guidelines, and related frameworks.

  • Demonstrated people management or mentoring skills, with a genuine ability to motivate, guide, and develop team members.

  • Expertise in translating regulatory requirements into practical, simple business solutions and functional controls.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional leadership teams.
