In its journey to make payments and money management effortless for every business in Europe, Mollie is looking for software engineers to join our big team. With the headquarters in the very heart of Amsterdam, we recently successfully started Engineering Hubs in Lisbon and Milan!

As a Software Engineer - Partner Experience, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of embedded finance. You'll be part of our Partnerships domain, where we are dedicated to crafting seamless end-to-end experiences for our customers. Our mission is to build tools that simplify financial interactions for platforms and their customers, enabling businesses to thrive without thinking about financial services. In addition to crafting effortless onboarding experiences, you’ll also work on enhancing our partner dashboard, providing valuable statistics and insights to empower our partners. Your work will help us deliver intelligent, well-regulated financial solutions while ensuring world-class operational capabilities across the entire customer journey.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Iterating from idea to final solution: shaping, building, testing, and measuring the performance of features our customers will love

  • Challenging ideas and contributing your own. We encourage each other to act this way so that you can expect the same from others.

  • Looking for ways to improve the state of our tech. We run these new products on Spring Boot, and integrate with other adjacent services built in PHP

  • Raising the bar of overall quality of our platform by working with a broader community of engineers within Mollie. We encourage you to contribute to our company-wide architecture & technology practices & solutions.

Our architecture

Mollie’s frontend landscape consists of multiple apps, each optimized for its specific purpose, such as our merchant dashboard, API documentation, and mobile apps. Our apps are generally written in TypeScript using React. Our backend systems are primarily written in Java and PHP and are hosted on Google Cloud. Many adjacent services are built in Java (Spring Boot) and also run on Google Cloud. We prioritize performance, stability, and resilience, continuously enhancing our applications to handle the next phase of growth.

What you’ll bring

  • A minimum of 6 years experience in developing large-scale web applications.

  • Strong knowledge of Java (Spring Boot).

  • You know all about service-oriented architecture patterns and how to apply them while building scalable systems.

  • I can think from both engineering and product perspectives and effectively explain proposed improvements in a pragmatic manner.

  • Excellent communication skills and experience working effectively with different

    stakeholders.

Nice to haves

  • Previously worked with PHP, TypeScript, React(.Native), Google Cloud Platform.

  • Previously worked within the Payments, FinTech or large-scale B2B SaaS space.

  • Track record of leading complex cross-functional or cross-team initiatives to their success.

  • Experience mentoring other engineers. You like helping others grow and succeed.
