Senior Financial Accountant

This is a unique opportunity to be at the front of financial reporting, contributing to various daily accounting operations. You will manage the accounting of complex financial accounts, including tax accounts, while ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, laws and regulations. In addition, you'll play a crucial role in mentoring junior accountants and guiding other team members by addressing their queries. Your ability to interact effectively with various internal and external stakeholders will be key to our success.

What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for maintaining complex accounts e.g. Revenues, Cost of Sales, Provisions, Taxes etc.

  • Preparing DNB (De Nederlandse Bank) and other regulatory reports.

  • Preparing and/or reviewing ad-hoc reports and analysis for various stakeholders.

  • Preparing annual reports.

  • Presenting our financial numbers to the required stakeholders on a monthly basis.

  • Support throughout the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closures.

  • Interaction with various stakeholders across the organization. 

  • Working closely with our Financial planning and analytics , tax, operations, procurement, engineering teams to come up with financial solutions for business opportunities.

  • Working with and supporting our auditor on a yearly basis.

  • Overseeing accounting of multiple organizations within the group

  • Process Optimization - Analysing the systems and procedures to improve the flows. Writing manuals, policies and memos.

  • Assistance with various business projects and initiatives


What you'll bring

  • Degree in accountancy and/or finance

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accountancy and/or finance

  • Post-accountancy degree e.g. ACCA, RA, CPA preferable.

  • Experience with a Big-4 firm is an advantage

  • Experience with a payment/banking industry/fintech is an advantage

  • Experience with tax accounting e.g. CIT, VAT, WKR etc.

  • Experience with IFRS and Dutch GAAP

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

  • Team player and able to supervise the junior accountants

  • Hands on, a do-er and a strong sense of ownership.

  • Fast learner, easily grasping new complex topics.

  • Able to make complex concepts easy to understand for anyone.

  • Eager to learn, broaden your knowledge and pick up new things.

  • Embracing change, curious to what lies beyond.
