Senior Payroll Specialist

Your Opportunity

At Mollie, we’re on a mission to make payments and money management effortless for every business in Europe.

We started 20 years ago when we launched a more direct, affordable way for companies to get paid. That provided an alternative to the frustrating, overpriced solutions that banks offered at the time.

Today, we serve more than 250,000 businesses across Europe with an all-in-one solution that simplifies payments and money management. And we’re a 850-strong team of product, finance, support, commerce, and engineering specialists working across Europe – from Lisbon to London.

Mollie is looking for a highly motivated and proactive Senior Payroll Specialist to join our talented Finance Team based in Amsterdam.

What you will be doing

  • Responsible for payroll across multiple countries, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, and working closely with the HR team.

  • Setting up our payroll in new countries that Mollie expands to.

  • Benefits administration. We offer a range of benefits and you will need to make sure that all of these are up to date and processed through payroll accurately.

  • Managing the monthly payroll processes including salary data: analyzing, processing, checking data input and output, review payslips and corrections.

  • Answer questions from employees regarding payroll.

  • Review payroll GL accounts and provide journal entries to the Financial Reporting team.

  • Perform internal audits and/or support external wage tax audits when required.

  • Process improvements: Streamline payroll processes, reporting and systems.

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

What you will bring

  • 7-10 years of previous experience in global payroll.

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience with Papaya Global would be an advantage but full training will be provided.

  • Extensive knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

  • Embrace change, curious to what lies beyond.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and openness to changes in the work environment.

  • Take the initiative to tackle additional tasks and responsibilities as they arise.

  • Ability to contribute your own ideas and work autonomously.

  • Ability to take ownership of tasks whilst managing competing priorities.

  • Fluent in English.
