Senior Security Operations Manager

Mollie is a fast growing financial services company, and security is an essential and integral part of our business. The role of the Senior Security Operations Manager lies at the heart of it all. 

Are you the right person to take our SOC to the next level? Besides being the primary point of contact for security incidents, and a liaison between the other internal stakeholders, you will have the chance to shape the future of our security operations by evolving our processes and technologies to the next level. Threat Intelligence, Forensics, Bug Bounty, Use Case management and cloud based SIEM solutions are all things that you'll have a hand in shaping as we mature our security operations services.


What you'll be doing

  • Develop and execute the overall security operations strategy and roadmap in alignment with security and business objectives.

  • Lead and mentor a team of security professionals, providing guidance and support in incident response, threat detection, and mitigation strategies.

  • Oversee the implementation and management of security tools and cloud technologies, including Cloud (Google), SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response), and IAM (OKTA).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into development processes, infrastructure, and applications.

  • Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation measures.

  • Monitor and analyse security events and incidents, investigating root causes and implementing proactive measures to prevent recurrence.

  • Stay abreast of emerging security threats, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to continuously enhance the company's security posture.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and security standards.

  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders on security-related matters.


What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a leadership role within security position, preferably in the fintech or financial services industry or scale up environment.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a security operations role.

  • In-depth knowledge of security principles, protocols, technologies, and best practices, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing security solutions.

  • Expertise in cloud security architecture and implementation, particularly with Cloud Platform (preferably Google).

  • Strong understanding of SIEM, SOAR, and identity and access management (IAM) solutions, such as OKTA.

  • Experience in conducting security assessments, risk management, and compliance audits (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001, DORA).

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and senior executives.

  • Proven leadership abilities, including the capacity to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving common goals.
