As a Software Engineer in the API Foundations and Security & User Management teams in Lisbon, you will contribute to both the scalability of our API ecosystem and ensuring top-notch security for our products. This unique position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge API fundamentals while upholding industry-standard security requirements.

What you'll be doing:

  • Tackle scalability challenges, optimising latency (to no more than few ms) for critical API endpoints.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially Security

  • Ensure intrinsically secure and top-notch user journeys.

  • Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems that support Mollie's internal teams.

What you'll bring:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in developing large-scale web applications.

  • PHP experience is preferable. However, we also welcome experience in other languages.

  • Knowledge of modern queuing and caching systems like RabbitMQ and Redis

  • Creative problem-solving skills

  • Great communication skills and a proven past of working effectively with different stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • You participated in the design of large-scale systems, handling performance, scalability and latency

  • A background working with Google Cloud Platform and/or working as a DevOps engineer
