Your Impact
This role is vital for winning the 'right' merchants—the large, strategic businesses in the German market that directly fuel Mollie’s growth. As a Solution Engineer, you will be the expert technical consultant for our most complex and valuable prospects, acting as the primary technical contact to get them from initial interest to a successful launch.
You'll partner closely with our Commercial team to win complex deals. This isn't just about selling; it's about acting as a trusted advisor. You'll guide merchants through the entire sales cycle, from technical discovery and solution design to validation and implementation planning. Your work ensures merchants adopt the best possible technical solution, building a foundation for long-term value and retention.
What you’ll ship
Lead technical discovery sessions to deeply understand and map complex merchant requirements.
Design and present tailored payment solutions, clearly mapping Mollie’s APIs and products to specific business needs.
Build and deliver custom demos, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and technical workshops that prove our value.
Act as the technical expert in the room, partnering with Account Executives to overcome objections and close strategic deals.
Collaborate directly with Product and Engineering teams, channeling critical merchant feedback to help shape our product roadmap.
What you’ll bring
3-5+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role (e.g., Solution Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Consultant).
A strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and modern web technologies, with the ability to read and understand code (like PHP, JavaScript, or Python).
Proven experience in the payments, fintech, or a complex SaaS industry.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a talent for explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Business fluency in both German and English is essential for this role.
