Who we are

At Mollie, we’re on a mission to make payments and money management effortless for every business in Europe. We started 20 years ago when we launched a more direct, affordable way for companies to get paid. That provided an alternative to the frustrating, overpriced solutions that banks offered at the time. Today, we serve more than 250,000 businesses across Europe with an all-in-one solution that simplifies payments and money management. And we’re a 850-strong team of product, finance, support, commerce, and engineering specialists working across Europe – from Lisbon to London.

Your opportunity

Partnerships, including Franchises and Marketplaces, are a critical part of our commercial strategy and plan towards profitable growth. We are looking for a strong, commercially driven individual to drive the expansion of our footprint in the Franchises and Marketplaces segment across our Expansion Markets.

You’ll be based out of Mollie’s HQ in Amsterdam. You’ll be building and closing relationships with Franchises and Marketplaces in different expansion markets across Europe. You are data driven and can independently manage a pipeline of opportunities, solving for short term impact while executing the long term strategy. These opportunities are predominantly focused on embedded payment solutions and simplifying complex processes.

You’ll work closely with the local and central teams and functions. Being part of our global Marketplaces team, you’ll report to the Lead Marketplaces, who are part of the Global Partnerships Connect team, consisting of 35+ FTE. In addition to this, you are part of the wider Expansion domain which covers all the different disciplines.

What you will be doing:

  • Mapping of the franchise and marketplace ecosystem in the different Expansion markets to identify opportunities, and reaching out to prospective partners

  • Takeover ownership of existing Expansion upmarket franchise and marketplace opportunities

  • Manage complex consultative sales cycles including participation in RFPs and internal stakeholder management

  • Take full responsibility for guiding marketplaces from first contact through to being operational and live

  • Contribute to, and execute Mollie’s upmarket strategy

  • Build and deliver go-to-market strategies for the Marketplaces channel, working with local leadership to ensure alignment with the wider commercial strategy in each region (across Sales, Marketing etc.)

  • Represent Mollie at industry events across Europe, in order to expand Mollie’s positioning as a leader in the Franchise and Marketplace payments space

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years work experience in Business Development or Partnerships in either a Fintech, SaaS or Tech company

  • Significant experience in managing a sales pipeline that consists of both larger strategic business development deals and smaller / high velocity deals as well as a track record in managing deals and negotiations first-hand

  • Cross-functional experience working with various internal and external stakeholders in an international environment

  • A strategic and analytical mindset and strong problem solving and communication skills

  • Ability to connect easily with potential partners and build trust-based relationships

  • Fluency (written and verbal) in English and Spanish. A third language is a big plus!

  • Preferred: previous experience in eCommerce or Marketplace models
