Senior Software Engineer

Lisbon’s hub is contributing to Mollie’s mission of delivering an outstanding Merchant Experience that allows Mollie to launch its next set of Payments and Financial Products.
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Developer Relations team in Lisbon, you will contribute to the scalability of our API ecosystem and ensure top-notch developer tooling for our customers. This unique position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge API fundamentals while implementing industry-standard tooling.
What you'll be doing:
Tackle scalability challenges, optimising latency for critical API endpoints.
Work in and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build the best products for our customers.
Design, build, and maintain end-to-end systems that support Mollie's internal teams.
What you'll bring:
A minimum of 5 years experience in developing large-scale & high performing web applications.
You led the design of large-scale systems, handling performance, scalability and latency
PHP experience is preferable. We welcome experience in other languages.
Knowledge of modern queuing and caching systems like RabbitMQ and Redis
Creative problem-solving skills
Great communication skills and a proven past of working effectively with different stakeholders
Nice to have:
A background working with Google Cloud Platform and/or working as a DevOps engineer
