Mollie is on a mission to become the most loved Payment Service Provider in Europe. Partnerships, including Marketplaces, are a critical part of our commercial strategy and plan towards profitable growth. We are looking for a strong, commercially driven individual to drive the expansion of our footprint in the Marketplaces segment in the UK & Ireland.


Youโ€™ll be based out of Mollieโ€™s UK office in Kings Cross, London. Youโ€™ll be building and closing relationships with Marketplaces in the UK & Ireland. You are data driven and can independently manage a pipeline of marketplaces opportunities, solving for short term impact while executing the long term strategy. These marketplace partnerships are predominantly focused on embedded payment solutions and simplifying complex processes.


Youโ€™ll work closely with the local and central teams and functions. Being part of our global Marketplaces team, youโ€™ll report to the Lead Marketplaces and are part of the Global Partnerships team, consisting of 35+ FTE.


What you will be doing:

  • Mapping of the marketplace ecosystem in the UK & Ireland to identify opportunities, and reaching out to prospective partners

  • Manage complex consultative sales cycles including participation in RFPs and internal stakeholder management 

  • Take full responsibility for guiding marketplaces from first contact through to being operational and live

  • Contribute to, and execute Mollieโ€™s upmarket strategy

  • Build and deliver go-to-market strategies for the Marketplaces channel, working with local leadership to ensure alignment with the wider commercial strategy in each region (across Sales, Marketing etc.)

  • Represent Mollie at industry events across UK and Europe, in order to expand Mollieโ€™s positioning as a leader in the Marketplace payments space


What you will bring:

  • 5+ years work experience in Business Development or Partnerships in either a Fintech, SaaS or Tech company

  • Significant experience in managing a sales pipeline that consists of both larger strategic business development deals and smaller / high velocity deals as well as a track record in managing deals and negotiations first-hand

  • Cross-functional experience working with various internal and external stakeholders in an international environment

  • A strategic and analytical mindset and strong problem solving and communication skills

  • Ability to connect easily with potential partners and build trust-based relationships

  • Fluency (written and verbal) in English

  • Preferred: previous experience in eCommerce or Marketplace models
