Site Reliability Engineer II
Your opportunity
At Mollie, we’re on a mission to make payments and money management effortless for every business in Europe. We started 20 years ago when we launched a more direct, affordable way for
companies to get paid. That provided an alternative to the frustrating, overpriced solutions that banks offered at the time.
Today, we serve more than 250,000 businesses across Europe with an all-in-one solution that simplifies payments and money management. And we’re a 850-strong team of product, finance, support, commerce, and engineering specialists working across Europe – from Lisbon to London.
As a Site Reliability Engineer you will play a key role in improving the reliability and scalability of our financial platform and APIs.
You will be joining the Cloud Foundation team - home to Mollie Cloud Platform, Mollie’s flavour of GCP. Our mission is simple: enable product teams to create value. We get there by providing a secure, reliable and scalable platform.
What will you be doing
We care for quality and well-designed user experiences—for engineers and non-engineers alike. This translates to well-operated and monitored systems, designing and implementing for failure, knowledge about distributed systems and a passion for automation.
Build a compliant and easy to use platform, exposed as a set of self-service tools.
Leverage cutting-edge technologies and techniques to add new features to the platform, and yes we have plenty of opportunities to do that :)
Strike a balance between shipping often and maintaining a high level of system reliability and security. You will work with stakeholders to set and maintain SLO’s and SLA’s to meet our business and merchants requirements.
Engage with auditors to make sure that everyone is doing what they are supposed to do, keeping our Merchants and Clients money safe and sound.
Here are some roadmap items we are currently working on:
Design and implement a shared cluster compute topology within our Cloud Infra
Build a cost attribution system encompassing over cloud and infra services
What you have
3 to 6 years of experience as an engineer in the infrastructure or platform area
Experience with any Cloud PaaS is a must. Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform will be a bonus.
Demonstrated expertise in HashiCorp Terraform and a deep understanding of infrastructure as code principles
Experience with designing, building and maintaining automations, systems and tools that keep downtime at a minimum
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
Experience dealing with large-scale applications in complex environments
Experience with high-level programming languages like Go/Python
Know your way around Linux systems and the shell
Please apply with your CV in English
